Dr. Julia Supino - Veterinarian

Dr. Supino was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She decided she wanted to be a vet when she was four years old and spent many subsequent years pursuing that goal.

She completed her Bachelor's in Animal Sciences at Colorado State University and received her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024 before returning to the West Coast to settle down. Following graduation, Dr. Supino completed an Emergency and Critical Care mentorship at DoveLewis in Portland. During college, she worked as a veterinary nurse at a small animal general practice, and while working in the ER she found herself missing the relationships she was able to build with pet parents in general practice. She still works at Dove on occasion, so make sure to say hi if you see her there!

Dr. Supino's special interests include emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, dairy medicine, anesthetic safety, toxicities, and accessible veterinary care. She believes strongly in the value of preventive medicine that allows our furry friends to live the long, happy lives we all want. You can rely on Dr. Supino for empathetic, thorough communication as she partners with you to navigate your pet's health.

Dr. Supino has fully embraced the PNW lifestyle since moving to the great state of Oregon. In her spare time, she can be found exploring the Oregon coast; hiking Oregon's lush trails with her husband and their dog; catching a Hops game; trying out a new recipe in her kitchen; or enjoying the offerings of local restaurants, breweries, and wineries.

Do you have any nicknames?
Jules is the only consistent nickname I've had throughout my life, but I mostly just go by Julia. On the ER floor at Dove, my techs call me Sup (pronounced just like soup).

In your words, what is your job at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
My role at Beaverton Pet Clinic is to be your pet's family doctor! I believe that general practitioners are a keystone in veterinary medicine, acting as the first line of defense against illness through comprehensive preventive care. Beyond the medicine, my job is to support and empower you as a pet parent for your pet's whole life.

Why did you decide to work at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
Simply put, the people and the medicine. The opportunity to continue growing my skillset alongside such an experienced, supportive staff was a big draw. I felt right at home from the first time I stepped through the door.

Do you have any pets?
Yes! We have a freckly mixed breed dog named Koda. He is a rescue from South Carolina whom I adopted during my first year of veterinary school.

Tell us a little known fact about you!
I spent a summer working on the country's largest organic dairy during college, hence my secret passion for dairy medicine.

Bonus fun facts:
I was the Music Director for my college a cappella group (it's only a little like Pitch Perfect), and if I weren't a vet, I would be a baker!
